GECKO and GECKO-Transplant Studies

We are in the process of enrolling dialysis and kidney transplant patients in our studies on the genetic epidemiology of chronic kidney disease outcomes. We will be evaluating an omnigenic model of chronic kidney disease, including monogenic and polygenic risk scores.

Hemodialysis Studies

We are currently conducting studies involving patients on hemodialysis, including looking at hemodialysis-related changes in over 1,000 biomarkers.

Precision Medicine for PKD

We are working to advance current understanding of polycystic kidney disease in an effort to move towards a precision medicine approach to treatment.

Evaluating Genomics Study Targets

We are currently looking for genetic evidence for the roles of target proteins, identified through genomics studies, in kidney disease.

Multi-Omics
We are performing multi-omic studies where we combine data sets of multiple "omes" such as the genome, epigenome, proteome, and transcriptome in order to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the biological interactions that contribute to kidney health.
Mendellian Randomization
We are currently conducting studies looking into various genes that have a significant association to kidney health exposures.  This will allow us to assess causality in kidney health outcomes.
